I’m sure by now most of you have seen the logo “STX” on shirts, socks and hats all over Perth. Ever since the streetwear brand Street X has started up in 2011 by Dan Bradshaw, it has quickly boomed into the most sought after wardrobe staples in the industry! Not a lot of 26 year olds can say that they are the owner and creative genius behind one of Australia’s best and most successful streetwear brands. The brand started off as a business plan in university and has since done pop up stores in Brisbane, Sydney, Los Angeles and Japan! It’s amazing that their flagship store is only based in Northbridge, Perth!
The streetwear market in Australia is so successful due to customer loyalty and collaborations with American brands that are hard to find over here. Street X hit the nail on the head by creating wardrobe essentials such as shirts, shorts and socks in current and wearable designs that are marketed towards 13-30 year old males. Their garments are also made out of a breathable cotton that is printed, manufactured and exported from Tirupur, India. This type of cotton makes their garments perfect for Australian weather! Dan is also so involved with every step of his brand that his latest collection is dedicated and inspired by the Tirupur cotton factory. The collection features the brand name in the local language Tamil along with printed pictures of their scenery.
Street X not only stocks their own garments but has also expanded and done collaborations with RUSTY, Anwar Carrots, Fathom Japan and Champion. They’ve also worked with celebrities such as Rapper Cousin Stizz, celebrity chef Matty Matheson, celebrity jewellery maker Maison Raksha (the one who made ASAP Rocky’s grills). They also love giving back to the locals by doing charity cook outs every Christmas for people in need, sponsoring local Perth MMA fighter Jack Becker and even donating soccer kits to the University of Western Australias’ team. It’s hard to believe that this was all accomplished within their first 6 years! They make it seem so easy! Congratulations on all your success Street X! We can’t wait to see what else you’ve got in store!
