2018 Fashion Colour Trends

Colour has always played a major role in fashion trends. Examining the colour trends in fashion for the last 3 years, neutrals were the go to colour in 2015, pastels were the colour for 2016 and in 2017 bold colours have been embraced wholeheartedly.

For 2018, colour trends in fashion are just starting to be shaped and certain hues are beginning to appear over and over again on the runways. If you’re a fashionista that is colour conscious, wants to keep up with the most popular fashion colour trends or are an early adopter for the colour trend for next year, take note.

Baby Blue

Pantone, the world-renowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of colour across a variety of industries and known worldwide as the standard language of colour for communicating from designer to manufacturer to consumer have revealed that for the first time ever that their colour for the year 2018 includes baby blue.

Deep Red

Deep red is another colour that was on the Pantone’s colour trend for 2018. This deeper and moodier red has been scientifically proven to make you look more attractive, and can be worn not only as a statement monochromatic look but as the pop of colour an outfit needs to take it from day to night seamlessly.

Muted Green

It’s no surprise that muted green is one of the colours in the 2018 colour trend. While being a timeless hue that has survived the last few seasons in most people’s wardrobes, it’s probably a sound idea to invest in more pieces.

Mocha

This earthy brown is another staple colour that can be styled with most outfits and is bound to be making the rounds in your weekly wardrobe choices.

Mellow Yellow

Mellow yellow is the ultimate colour of optimism another colour that will be trending in fashion in the year ahead. Mellow yellow is the softer interpretation of the sunflower hue and is best embraced in billowy, free-flowing silhouettes.
