A Flashback From the 90’s

Fashion is a fascinating subject as most trends just come and go. Taking inspirations from different era’s, genres, and even style icons like Jennifer Aniston, Winona Ryder and your classic chick flick, Clueless. You may not realise, but most trends nowadays are greatly inspired from the 90’s. It’s an ongoing cycle; the same fabric and style, but mixed with a modernised silhouette.  Maybe you want to look through your mom and dad’s old clothes before you give it away for donation. 😉

SLIP ON DRESS OVER TEES

This trend has been around for quite some time now. However, we’d have to give credit to Cher Herowitz for giving us the idea! Thanks to another style icon, Kylie Jenner for showing us a modernised version of this trend.

THE MOM JEANS

We’re pretty sure your mom would’ve worn these back in the day, if not, try looking through some of her old photos. We assure you you’ll find her wearing these, matched with tucked in tops, and a pretty belt to finish it off. 😉

DENIM ON DENIM

You probably know this already. Tip? Match similar washes to give it a well-put-together look. For a more vintage vibe, opt for the lighter wash denims.

CHOKERS

Chokers have been around way back since the 1800’s. Back then, chokers would symbolise  royal blood. It was then revived as an accessory back in the 90’s — especially the tattoo choker. Now, there are different types and styles that you can play around with.

Experiment with what works for your style  and you will look like you just got a makeover from Cher herself!
